Green business support / consultancy

Industry and commerce are major drivers of the economy but also a huge source of carbon emissions. In order to transition to an economy that is ecologically sustainable many firms, especially SMEs, will need support and guidance.

Greentech South and Clean Growth UK

Greentech South is the UK's first ESCA accredited cleantech network. Started in 2014, Future South and GTS helps firms in the Solent area transform innovative, low carbon ideas into commercialised products and services. They work with higher education institutions and public bodies to do this and in 2018 became a part of the Clean Growth UK network.

Clean Growth UK is a nation-wide business network that helps companies access university R&D expertise and facilities, business commercialisation advice and coaching, investor pitch preparation support and investor introductions. It is delivered by three regional hubs: The University of Brighton’s Green Growth Platform, the University of Portsmouth’s Greentech South and Liverpool John Moores University.

Since 2019 it has secured £10m in funding to support local businesses in the transition to a zero-carbon economy, helped 100 firms and created over 250 jobs.
